BA Fashion Textiles, London College of Fashion 2014
Emily’s stunning range of silk scarves, inspired by flora and fauna are a luxurious accessory that captivate everyone managing to be both fierce, contemporary and yet completely wearable and classy. Her illustrations that these scarves are based and draw upon, further demonstrate her extraordinary draftsmanship and her love of the natural world.
Emily has always loved to draw but she admits that she never dreamed that her skills would progress as much as they have during her time at London College of Fashion. Most of Emily’s current illustrations are from her second year of study when she discovered the fine pen composition style and aesthetic used in the piece and are inspired by her lifetime interest in natural history, animals, science and biology; and the beauty of the natural world.
"I grew up in the countryside, and as a child I was always in the garden looking for bugs and creatures and watching David Attenborough. It’s such a huge source for aesthetic inspiration; the colours, prints, textures and creatures have always been a key source of creativity for my design work."
