Yana mostly works with silk and wool, exploring the weight and quality of these heritage fabrics. She aims to create beautiful pieces that further the fabrics traditional qualities and connotations towards her own legacy. She approaches her work through incrementalism, the process of making small changes, incorporating new ideas into the work every day. She is also influenced by Scandinavian craftmanship, family and the fluid movements of Pina Bausch. This translates into pieces that are not only high quality, but that have value through the attention and care taken with every detail.
"I am always carrying good ideas and working them over. I tend to have a connection between each collection. I am building a wardrobe!"
